A hydraulic radial piston pump is a high-pressure, positive displacement pump in which pistons are arranged radially (like spokes of a wheel) around a central drive shaft. It is widely used where very high pressure, precise flow control, and high efficiency are required.

Construction

Drive shaft
Cylinder block with radially arranged pistons
Eccentric cam / reaction ring
Inlet and outlet ports
Pistons with slippers or rollers
Valve plate (in some designs)

Working Principle

When the shaft rotates, the eccentric cam causes the pistons to move inward and outward
Outward movement → suction of hydraulic oil from the inlet
Inward movement → oil is forced out through the outlet under pressure
Continuous rotation produces a smooth, high-pressure oil flow
